Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information handled by Nassau County Residents Directory and the choices available to visitors. The service is a reference to public records and historical collections in Nassau County, New York. It does not require an account or maintain a resident-record database.

Information You Submit

Search-form entries, such as a name, phone number, or address, are sent to the third-party provider that returns the sponsored search result. Our servers do not retain a copy of those queries. If you contact us, the message and contact details you choose to include are used to respond.

Automatic Information

Like most hosted services, the host may record IP address, browser type, page request, and timestamp in routine server logs. We review aggregated information to maintain the service. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where used.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service, and to answer a message. We do not sell visitor lists or create profiles of individual visitors from the information described here.

External Resources

Links lead to government portals, archives, libraries, and search providers. Their policies control information submitted on their services, including any sponsored result provider. Nassau County Residents Directory cannot control their content, availability, charges, or handling of submitted information.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Hosting and support providers may process ordinary logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. Information may also be disclosed when required by valid legal process.

Security and Retention

We use an encrypted connection and retain logs only for the operational purposes described here. Since no visitor account is offered, the service does not maintain a visitor password or account profile.

Children

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to people under 18. If you believe a minor submitted personal information through a contact channel, contact us so that it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Your Information Requests

New York Public Officers Law Article 6-A, §§91–99, the Personal Privacy Protection Law, governs some state-agency personal-information access and correction. It is not a universal deletion right for local government records or commercial profiles. For information held by us, use the Contact page. Requests to correct or remove an official Nassau County or New York record must go to the custodian that created it. The New York Address Confidentiality Program and confidential voter procedures have their own eligibility routes.

Policy Changes

Any revised privacy policy will appear here. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the updated policy.
